Why I chose to run for SMUSD Trustee Area C

Spring of 2022. A good friend of mine asked me to join her and SMUSD Social Workers to a School Board Meeting. Several were going to be let go due to budget cuts. I knew in good conscience that I had stand in solidarity with them. It is my duty as a fellow mental health professional to support our Social Workers for the good of the District. As a professional School Counselor I know the struggles that students and families face. I have worked with families for over 26 years.

My Mission

My name is Andrés Ramos Martín, and I want continue to be your Trustee for Area C of San Marcos Unified School District. I have been an educator for twenty six years. As a father of a current third grader in our district, I am invested in the healthy wellbeing, success of our kids and will continue to support our parents, students and staff.

As a 42 year resident of San Marcos and proud product of San Marcos Unified Schools I will fight to empower our students to be the best that they can be.

Having served as a High School Counselor for the past 26 years in a neighboring district I have first hand knowledge of the challenges students face with mental health, academic, and career development issues.
